Our History
We believe that one’s past is often a stepping-stone into one’s future. Our history is simply stated: We were formed when a number of us who were leading churches said, “Lord, where can we find other leaders who desire to share their lives together, and who can “go to war together” in the spiritual battles we all face as leaders?” We have found the answer to that question in Christ and in each other.
Originally formed to serve a small group of West Coast churches, KMI now has members in numbers of countries throughout the world. The Fellowship has a wide leadership base, which operates through an Apostolic Council and an Implementation Team, made up of senior leadership from the various Regions we have formed around the world. Believing in local fellowship and local problem solving, and unwilling to unduly centralize our organization, we focus the majority of our fellowship functions and leadership training within these Regional gatherings.
Kingdom Ministries International is a tax-exempt, religious corporation originally founded under the name of “His Name Ministries” in Santa Rosa, California. It is a “Group Organization,” which means that, for tax-exempt or corporate purposes, it has the ability to offer its tax-exempt status to other organizations anywhere in the United States if the group needs that service and complies with the status.
